In a age where we take digital imaging for granted, the way that it can be altering our memory is concerning. The millions of photographed events that reside within the storage, forgotten about, out of sight, out of mind. Roland Barthes wrote in Camera Lucida “not only is the Photograph never, in essence, a memory... but it actually blocks memory, quickly becomes a counter-memory”
The work is a conversation about how the abundance of images we take on a daily basis is effecting our recollection of our autobiographical memory, relying more on the camera than our own memory.
